The Langkawi Dragon Fruit Farm is a small a 3 hectare plot of land where you can find one of the famous and organically grown variety of dragon fruit known as "Pitahaya" a highly colored fruit of pitaya cactusfrom Costa Rican variety (a republic in Central America).
The purplish-red fruit freshly cut has the most amazing scent fertilized by goat dung, fish waste and soya bean which gives the plants more immunity towards insects or diseases. The dragon fruit develops into a fully grown and wilts in order to grow into green colored fruits. You can determine the sweetness of the fruit by having a look at its shape. The rounded and the cracked ones at the fruit’s end would be sweeter.
The cracks indicate that the dragon fruit is fully ripe and ready to eat.
According to the natives in Central America, dragon fruit is said to be helpful for diabetes and prevention of cancer.
