The huge Langkawi Craft Cultural Complex located upon a hilltop in Teluk Yu is the main attraction of Pantai Teluk Yu. It is also nearby the Pantai Pasir Hitam beachfront and was built to display the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia through handicrafts. It has different museums inside which are The Heritage museum, The Royal Museum and the Islamic Museum.
At this cultural Complex, there are informative displays about these handicrafts and you can also see live demonstrations of traditional weaving methods like the songket- a silk material weaved with gold and silver threads.
The other exclusive mixture of craftwork items are different kinds of fabrics, metal artifacts and intricately woven baskets. These fabrics and woven baskets are the items which can also be bought by visitors.
There is also a gallery inside the Langkawi Craft complex which exhibits the statics of weddings, both local and prominent and other customs of Malaysia. A gift shop is also available selling lovely handcrafted souvenirs for visitors to buy for friends and family.
