Field of Burnt Rice (Beras Terbakar)

This field was set on fire by villagers in order to keep the enemy from acquiring food when Siamese invaded in 1821. Amusingly even after 200 years of the incident, the visitors can still find the burnt rice grains on the ground.

The visitors can explore various rice-based delicacies and see the equipment being used. Farm animals roam freely in the fields with villagers engaged in other activities such as fishing and kite flying. There is a rooftop garden and a souvenir shop for visitors to collect small gift items for their friends and family.

Padang Masirat field of the burnt rice is located right next to the airport.
