The Burau Bay Beach

The Burau Beach also known as Pantai Teluk Burau is a narrow beach located on the west coast of Langkawi Island. It is right at the bottom of the Matcinang Mountain. About 20 minutes away from the Langkawi International Airport only accessible by a taxi or a rented car.

This gorgeous stretch of beach is a public beach with swaying coconut palms and bordered with one of the oldest forests in the world. There waters of this beach are clear and good for swimming and other exotic water sports. Geographically speaking it is perhaps one of the rare beaches that face both the west and the east displaying beautiful views of sunrise as well as the sunset. Here you would also find Piped Hornbills also a preferable spot for collecting shells.

The major features of pulau Burau is its extraordinary diversity of migratory birds. The nearby attractions of this beach are Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls, Kuala Teriang fishing village and Padang Matsirat.
